Locums CRNA - Level I Trauma & High-Volume ORs in Fort Lauderdale (Full-Time, Pediatric Experience)

Join a high-volume Level I Adult Trauma center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as a full-time locum tenens Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative anesthesia team managing a diverse, complex case mix across a busy hospital-based practice.

Schedule and Availability

• Full-time: Monday-Friday primary schedule
• Typical shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Flexibility required: shift length and location may vary based on staffing needs
• Must be available for nights, weekends, and call as part of the coverage schedule
• Shared CRNA call rotation: approximately one weekend every other month; weekend beeper call for Saturday and Sunday

Practice Setting

• High-volume hospital-based anesthesia service performing ~1,200 surgical cases per month
• Care-team model: ~80% independent cases, ~20% medically directed/supervised cases
• EMR: Epic (proficiency test-out available)

Typical Case Mix
Provide anesthesia across a broad range of specialties, including:

• Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, ENT, Plastic Surgery
• Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Vascular and Thoracic Surgery
• Urology, Oncology, Oral & Maxillofacial, Dental Surgery, Electrophysiology, Gastroenterology
  Majority of cases: Orthopedics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, ENT, Plastic, Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery, Gastroenterology.

Required Clinical Experience

• Adult Level I Trauma anesthesia
• Pediatric Level II Trauma and pediatric anesthesia (required)
• Level III NICU exposure
• Experience with trauma, cardiothoracic, obstetric, and complex surgical cases preferred

Qualifications

• Active CRNA certification and board certification
• Minimum 2 years of CRNA experience (no new graduates)
• Active Florida CRNA license
• Current BLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must reside outside Florida; Florida-based providers will not be considered
• Must provide a current out-of-state driver’s license with presentation
• Full-time availability required (4 weeks per month); day-only availability cannot be accommodated
• Rush credentialing available; temporary privileges possible in 3-4 weeks for providers with a clean file and active Florida license
