Locums Board-Certified Cardiovascular Surgeon - Holiday Weekend 24-hr Call, Greenville SC

A hospital-based cardiovascular surgery program in Greenville, SC seeks a board-certified locum tenens cardiovascular surgeon to provide holiday weekend call coverage. This daytime and after-hours role is ideal for an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon comfortable managing complex cases, inpatient rounding, and emergent interventions.

Opportunity overview

• Location: Greenville, South Carolina
• Assignment: 24-hour call coverage
• Dates: Friday, July 3, 5:00 PM through Monday, July 6, 7:00 AM
• Setting: Hospital-based inpatient cardiovascular surgery service
• Weekend/on-call coverage required

Key responsibilities

• Provide cardiovascular surgery call coverage for the assigned weekend
• Perform hospital rounding and manage inpatient surgical care
• Evaluate and treat acute cardiovascular surgical conditions
• Perform emergent and urgent surgical procedures as indicated
• Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiology, critical care, and hospital staff
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the EMR

Required experience and procedures

• Proven experience with aneurysm repair, coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacement surgeries, and other cardiothoracic procedures as needed
• Comfortable managing complex and emergent surgical cases

Qualifications

• MD or DO with fellowship training in cardiovascular surgery
• Board certified in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery
• Active South Carolina medical license (candidates requiring licensure will not be considered)
• Current ACLS certification
