Per Diem Locums Acute Care/Trauma Surgeon (Level III) - Bakersfield, CA

Location: Bakersfield, California (Level III Trauma Center)

Schedule and Compensation

• 10 shifts per month
• 24-hour shifts (call and surgical coverage)
• Compensation: $780 per 10-hour shift
• Travel expenses covered

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency general surgery and acute care surgery services
• Perform operative procedures and manage non-operative patients
• Collaborate with trauma, emergency medicine, and hospitalist teams
• Participate in consultations, admissions, and inpatient rounds
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

Requirements

• Board Certified in General Surgery
• Active California medical license
• BLS and ACLS certification (required)
• Prior trauma or acute care surgery experience preferred
