Job Summary:

HCA Houston Healthcare is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Regional Medical Director to join our Emergency Medicine leadership team in Houston, Texas.
 
Position Summary:
The Regional Medical Director of Emergency Medicine serves as the senior physician leader for emergency services across a defined region of hospitals and/or freestanding emergency departments and provides comprehensive clinical, operational, quality, and professional leadership to ensure high-quality, patient-centered emergency care. The Regional Medical Director is accountable for aligning multi-site emergency department performance with organizational and division-level goals through oversight, standardization, collaboration, and physician leadership rather than prescriptive task execution. The Regional Medical Director functions as the primary physician liaison among Site Chiefs, emergency clinicians, hospital leaders, system/division leaders, and community stakeholders, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement across the region. Duties may be performed directly or through appropriate delegation to Site Chiefs and other physician leaders, with the Regional Medical Director retaining oversight and accountability. This position is approximately 80% administrative and 20% clinical.
 
Qualified Candidates:
  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine through American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine
  • Master's Degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Leadership experience in a large, complex hospital or regional health system
  • Texas License and DEA

HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood is a 457-bed acute care facility that has provided quality care to the Lake Houston area for over 30 years.
