Job Description

Provide medical direction and attend to residents at local skilled nursing facilities in Lacon, IL. This part-time role partners with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care and to provide clinical oversight within assigned facilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as attending physician and clinical leader at assigned skilled nursing facilities
  • Collaborate with NPs, PAs, nursing staff, and facility leadership on care plans and transitions
  • Conduct regular on-site visits (admissions, follow-ups, medication reviews, discharge planning)
  • Provide medical decision-making, documentation, and order entry using company-provided iPad
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and quality/improvement activities
  • Ensure compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations and documentation standards

Schedule and workload

  • Part-time: typically 1-2 days per week per facility
  • No fixed start/end times, no overnight shifts, no call
  • Average 18-25 visits per day
  • Flexible scheduling to support work-life balance
  • New graduates who are board-eligible and actively pursuing licensure encouraged to apply

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with active unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, PM&R, or Emergency Medicine
  • Strong clinical decision-making, leadership, and communication skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
