Full-Time | Acute Care Surgery | Inpatient & Ambulatory Care | Rotating Schedule
An academic medical center in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its Acute Care Surgery team and provide direct care for complex medical and surgical patients in a collaborative teaching-hospital environment.
Opportunity Highlights:
- Full-time Acute Care Surgery NP opportunity
- Provide direct patient care in inpatient and/or ambulatory settings
- Perform patient histories and physical examinations
- Develop and coordinate treatment plans
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies
- Provide patient and family education
- Coordinate care across surgical, nursing, and consulting teams
- Collaborate closely with attending physicians, surgeons, fellows, residents, and nursing staff
- Consult with physicians and surgeons regarding complex diagnoses
- Serve as a clinical resource and educator for staff
- Participate in formal and informal education, seminars, and conferences
- Provide direct care and management for opioid patients
- Teaching hospital environment
- Some off-hours, weekend, and on-call coverage may be required
- Rotating schedule
Compensation and Benefits:

Candidate Requirements:
- Nurse Practitioner
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Massachusetts nursing license
- Massachusetts Board authorization to practice as an APRN
- Valid Massachusetts prescriptive authority
- Federal DEA registration
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- 0-1 years of related experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Specialty-area expertise preferred
- Pain Management experience preferred
- Experience with electronic and web-based clinical systems
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and communication skills
