Locum Cardiovascular Surgeon Needed

We are seeking a Cardiovascular Surgeon for locum tenens coverage in Wisconsin. This opportunity is ideal for a surgeon who can provide comprehensive cardiovascular surgical care, including performing cases. The provider will work collaboratively with the existing cardiovascular surgeon to establish a mutually agreed-upon schedule, with an anticipated commitment of 15–20 days per month.

Overview

• Provide inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and on-call cardiovascular surgical coverage.
• Perform appropriate cardiovascular surgical cases rather than routinely transferring or referring cases to other facilities.
• Manage an average inpatient census of approximately 2–6 patients.
• See approximately 2–15 outpatient patients per day.
• Provide APP supervision as required.
• Complete clinical documentation in real time, by the end of the shift, or post-shift, as applicable.
• Adult and geriatric patients
• EMR: Epic

Call

• Weeknight, overnight, and weekday 24-hour call coverage may be required.
• Call schedules and hours are to be determined in coordination with the current cardiovascular surgeon.
• Return calls within 30 minutes or after three attempts, per facility requirements.
• Return to the facility within 30 minutes or after three attempts, per facility requirements.

Requirements

• Board Certified MD or DO
• Active Wisconsin medical license
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
