Position Details
1 board certified neonatologist & 2 board certified NNPs
Employed position
100% inpatient
Teaching affiliation with Michigan State University medical students and family practice residents
Collegial and supportive practice environment
Flexible scheduling with partner.
Round and manage daily census
NNPs take first call at night
Neonatologist called in for complex cases only
Cerner EMR
Staffed with 2 NNPs, Nursing Clinical Director, Unit Clerk, RNs (includes transport RNs.
Transport teams include RNs, RT, paramedic
Pediatric cardiologist on-site
Level III A NICU with no surgical sub-specialties. Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Pulmonary Hypertension, Pneumothorax, Sepsis, Seizures, Stabilize surgical cases for transport out. VLBW, NAS
Equipment and Services: Full equipment, MRI, CT, EEG, with hospital Paragon EHR. General Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, Infectious disease, contracts for consultation with the University of Michigan Cardiology and Ophthalmology. Ability to reach Neonatologists at Mott Children's Hospital, DeVos Children's Hospital or Children's
Practice: Provide comprehensive care for infants born as young as 23 weeks gestation. Twin transport capabilities, whole-body cooling for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy patients and comprehensive family-centered care.
Requirements: Board Certified in Neonatology preferred, Board Eligible acceptable. Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certified. Intubation, Chest tube placement, Placement of central lines, Paracentesis, Spinal taps, exchange transfusion, thermal cooling, ventilator management including oscillators and iNO
