Summary:
The Radiology Coordinator for CHRISTUS Radiology is a professional who will work closely with the Director of Radiology and the Clinical Supervisor to provide multi-departmental coding support and correction, be able to work in all areas of the department as needed to facilitate patient throughput, and is also responsible for performing a variety of general reporting duties; facilitating communication between patients, visitors, and associates, and expedites inter-departmental services as well as provide support for the Clinical Supervisor and Director of Radiology in the performance of their duties. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organizations mission, values and culture.
Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Be able to work in all areas of the department as necessary to increase patient through put.
- Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts as needed and at other campuses as needed or required.
- Review and correct CCA edits module for all Radiology Claim Scrubbing accounts listed.
- Demonstrates effective use of computer, i.e.: Meditech, other software, and intranet. Attends in-services to improve and maintain knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrates department teamwork, follows directions promptly and courteously. Performs assigned department maintenance duties. Consistently maintains professional, friendly, courteous manner.
- Assures payroll is updated daily. Complete payroll assignments in a timely manner. Follows through on any additional payroll requests for signature and forwards to payroll for processing.
- Processes invoices with appropriate account/sub account numbers, obtains appropriate payment authorizations, and forwards to A/P for payment.
- Maintains and compile departmental paperwork i.e.: Staff meeting minutes, administrative reports, monthly stats, miscellaneous forms as needed.
- Verifies associate licenses, forward verified copies to HR, and maintain copies within the department and maintain department associate Education files.
- Review the Incomplete Procedure Report daily and correct as directed.
- Request and maintain images for comparison from outside facilities.
- Completes daily batch rejection files to insure proper billing. Coordinates weekend batch rejection reports with key staff.
- Performs daily review and edits of the Radiology ABS on HOLD report.
- Reviews daily billing list for all RAD categories for obvious errors and alerts technologists in that modality of potential issues or errors.
- Evaluates staffing needs concerning Meditech and provides Meditech education as directed.
- Keeps Meditech charge master up to date by following changes in Radiology field.
- Communicates changes to the "CWS DATA Maintainer", and "OE/Nursing group” to allow for updates in the Scheduling and OE Modules and assist the Informaticist with any changes or deletions as needed in the ITS module.
- Collaborates with the Meditech "core team" to accomplish team initiatives concerning departmental challenges, at an expert level.
- Attends annual meetings for CPT coding changes, works closely with Radiology Leadership on code changes and fee request for new procedures.
- Provide expert support to Radiology Leadership concerning departmental processes and procedures.
- Assist department leaders in JACHO readiness and CHRISTUS Health department compliance.
- Provide backup for department Clinical Supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered, Licensed Technologist
- Analytical and reimbursement skills
- Capable to make immediate judgments and decisions
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Current Registration (ARRT) required
- Current state licensure required
- BLS required
