Hospitalist Admitting Physician - Richmond, IN (7-on/7-off, No Call)

We are looking for a patient-focused Hospitalist Admitting Physician to join an inpatient hospital medicine team in Richmond, Indiana. This role centers on coordinating admissions and discharges while delivering high-quality, collaborative inpatient care. Enjoy a predictable 7-on/7-off schedule with no call and APP support.

Schedule & practice details

• Shift: 11:00 AM-11:00 PM
• Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
• No call responsibilities
• Patient volume: up to 13 admissions per shift
• APPs support some admissions
• Primary focus: admissions and discharges
• No procedures required

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients for hospital admission and establish appropriate treatment plans
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize patient flow
• Provide comprehensive inpatient care and clinical assessment
• Collaborate with APPs, hospitalists, nursing, and other clinical teams
• Review diagnostics, manage acute conditions, and arrange consultations as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with patients and care teams

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• If applicable, achieve board certification within five years of residency completion
• Active Indiana medical license or eligibility via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• BLS required; ACLS required if requesting conscious sedation privileges
• Two to three years of inpatient medicine experience preferred
• Ability to maintain required certifications and meet professional standards
