Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon - Fly-In Shift Coverage (Houston Area, TX)

Location: Near Houston, Texas

Position summary
Join a multi-specialty team as a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible, fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide acute trauma coverage within a collaborative surgicalist model. Deliver high-quality patient care across emergency, operative, and inpatient settings while supporting quality initiatives and mentoring trainees and mid-level providers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive orthopedic trauma care in the Emergency Department, Operating Room, and inpatient units
• Maintain on-call/response coverage within 30 minutes for trauma activations
• Manage complex fracture care and other acute orthopedic trauma procedures
• Collaborate with trauma surgery, acute care, anesthesia, rehabilitation, and other cross-specialty teams
• Participate in surgical decision-making, performance improvement, compliance, and protocol development
• Mentor and supervise residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers

Required qualifications

• MD or DO with completed Orthopedic Trauma fellowship
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Active Texas medical license or eligibility for licensure
• Demonstrated proficiency in acute orthopedic trauma techniques, including complex fracture management
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
