Per Diem Vascular Surgery APP (PA-C or NP) - Bakersfield, CA

We are hiring a per-diem Vascular Surgery APP to join an experienced vascular surgery team in Bakersfield, CA. The role supports inpatient care, OR cases, outpatient clinic visits, and postoperative follow-up. Coverage is scheduled based on departmental needs and mutual availability.

Compensation

• $136,500 (pro-rated for per-diem status as applicable)

Schedule

• Per-diem shifts based on coverage needs
• Typically 10-hour weekday shifts (commonly 7:00 AM-5:00 PM)
• Flexible scheduling based on mutual availability

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient vascular clinic care in a fully equipped clinic
• Assist with inpatient endovascular and open vascular surgery cases
• Support outpatient surgery center cases
• Manage patients with peripheral arterial disease, varicose veins, dialysis access, carotid disease, and other vascular conditions
• Perform inpatient rounds and consultations
• Participate in elective and postoperative vascular clinics
• Assist vascular surgeons in the OR
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care

Requirements

• Current PA-C or Nurse Practitioner license and certification
• 1-2 years vascular surgery experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with patients and work in a collaborative surgical environment
