Trauma/Acute Care Surgery APP (NP or PA) - Visalia, CA

Join a high-performing trauma team in Visalia, CA as an experienced Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This Level III trauma center manages roughly 2,200 annual activations and delivers comprehensive inpatient, consultative, perioperative, and critical care services. The APP will collaborate with attending surgeons, residents, and intensivists to provide high-quality trauma and emergency surgical care across the ICU and surgical wards.

Compensation: $150,000 for 183 shifts.

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide daytime coverage for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery services.
• Perform ER consults, assist in operative and postoperative care, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Manage surgical ward and ICU patients to ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborate closely with attending surgeons, residents, nursing staff, and intensivists.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and apply evidence-based practices to trauma care.
• Promote clear communication and teamwork within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.

Qualifications:

• Licensed PA-C, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• Surgical or trauma experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, procedural, and critical-thinking skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with physicians, residents, and nursing teams.
