Locums Night Hospitalist - 7-on/7-off at 500+ Bed Level II Trauma & Stroke Center (Fort Pierce, FL)

Seeking an on-site Night Hospitalist to cover a large tertiary care hospital in Fort Pierce, FL. This locum tenens opportunity offers a 7-on/7-off schedule caring for a clinically complex, socioeconomically diverse patient population across the Treasure Coast.

Schedule & practice details

• Start: ASAP; duration: indefinite
• Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off; 12-hour night shifts
• Coverage: On-site night coverage at a 500+ bed hospital
• Hospital designations: Level II Trauma Center and Stroke Center
• Hospital medicine census: 250+ patients; typical patient load ~18-22 per physician
• Daily admissions: ~3-5 per daytime rounding physician; consults ~0-1 per day
• EMR: not specified

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nighttime inpatient hospital medicine care
• Evaluate and manage a wide range of acute and complex medical conditions
• Coordinate care with daytime hospitalists, specialists, nursing, and other clinical staff
• Participate in ICU rounds with the Critical Care team (Critical Care team remains primary ICU team)
• Respond to clinical changes and ensure continuity of care throughout the shift
• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Prior hospital medicine experience preferred
• Procedural skills are a plus but not required; ventilator management and independent procedural skills are not required
