Overnight Cardiothoracic Surgery NP/PA - Fly-In Role (Denver, CO) $210K

We’re seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a busy Cardiothoracic Surgery team in Denver, CO. This is an overnight position providing coverage in a well-resourced hospital, supporting patients in both the ICU and the inpatient cardiothoracic surgery unit.

Schedule & compensation

• Night shift schedule: 5:00 PM-6:30 AM
• 14 shifts per month (typically two weeks on, two weeks off)
• Annual pay: $210,000
• Full benefits package

Clinical setting & patient volume

• Practice in a highly resourced hospital with strong multidisciplinary support
• Coverage spans the cardiothoracic surgery ward and the ICU
• Typical nightly census:
  • 3-6 ICU patients
  • 10-15 inpatients on the cardiothoracic unit

What you’ll do

• Provide overnight clinical coverage for post-op and pre-op cardiothoracic surgery patients
• Assess, manage, and monitor patients in the ICU and inpatient settings
• Recognize and respond to changes in clinical status, escalating when needed
• Coordinate care with surgeons, hospitalists, bedside nursing, and other team members
• Ensure smooth handoffs and clearly communicate clinical updates to the daytime team

Who we’re looking for

• NP or PA eligible for Colorado licensure
• ICU or cardiac clinical experience required; cardiothoracic surgery or critical care background strongly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Acute-care specialty certification is a plus
