Overnight Locum CT Surgery NP/PA - Rapid City SD | ICU/Inpatient, High Pay + Travel & Malpractice Covered

Join a well-resourced Cardiothoracic Surgery team in Rapid City, SD, as an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant providing overnight coverage for ICU and inpatient cardiothoracic patients.

Schedule

• Night shift: 5:00 PM-6:30 AM
• 14 shifts per month (two weeks on, two weeks off)

Clinical setting & patient volume

• Large, fully equipped hospital
• Coverage spans cardiothoracic surgery ward and ICU
• Typical nightly census: 3-6 ICU patients and 10-15 inpatients

Key responsibilities

• Provide overnight clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients in ICU and inpatient settings
• Assess and manage acute changes in patient condition
• Monitor patients, initiate interventions as appropriate, and document care
• Coordinate with physicians, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams
• Communicate clinical updates and support continuity of care for the daytime team

Qualifications

• Licensed NP or PA eligible for South Dakota
• ICU or cardiac clinical experience required; cardiothoracic surgery or critical care experience strongly preferred
• BLS and ACLS required; acute-care specialty certification preferred
