Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Correctional Medicine | Cleveland, OH

We’re looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join a correctional healthcare team in Cleveland, OH. This is a contract/travel assignment starting ASAP, daytime shift (6:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.), 40 hours, with a pay rate of $2,424/40-hours.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide initial and ongoing nursing assessments for inmates with acute, chronic, and emergent needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations; triage sick-call requests.
• Coordinate and support provider visits, on-site exams, and off-site appointments as needed.
• Respond to medical emergencies and stabilize patients according to established protocols.
• Monitor and manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and behavioral health issues.
• Safely handle medical equipment, medications, and controlled substances.
• Accurately document all care in the electronic medical record.
• Work closely with custody staff to maintain safety, ensure compliance, and manage patient movement.
• Provide patient education focused on health maintenance and self-care.

Who we’re looking for

• Active RN license for the state.
• At least 1 year of clinical experience; correctional experience is ideal, but ER, med-surg, or psych backgrounds are also a strong fit.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Ability to work in a secure environment and respond effectively in urgent situations.
• Strong assessment skills, clear communication, and solid critical thinking.
