Rate: Local: $914 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) to support individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Insert, monitor, and manage IV lines; administer and observe IV medications/fluids per policy.
  • Care for urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring for complications).
  • Collect clinical specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Support patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies in accordance with regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and assist with health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
