Rate: Local: $914 / 36 hours
Requirements:
- Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
- BLS certification
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
- Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) to support individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
- Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
- Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and changes in patient condition.
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
- Insert, monitor, and manage IV lines; administer and observe IV medications/fluids per policy.
- Care for urinary catheters (insertion, maintenance, monitoring for complications).
- Collect clinical specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
- Support patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management.
- Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
- Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and appropriate use of PPE.
- Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies in accordance with regulations.
- Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and assist with health assessments.
- Advocate for patient rights and needs within the care team.
- Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
