Schedule: Mon–Wed, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM | Rate: Local $914/36 hours

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to provide hands-on nursing care in Albuquerque on a 7-week contract. This role requires accurate clinical skills, strong communication, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient-centered care.

Required:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and participate in individualized care planning.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting appropriately.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and incision sites for signs of infection or complications.
  • Obtain and process patient specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Maintain timely, detailed patient records, charting condition changes, interventions, and responses to treatment.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management; monitor for and respond to changes in condition.
  • Provide and monitor IV therapy, ensuring proper line placement and function.
  • Perform catheter insertion/maintenance and monitor for related complications.
  • Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support when needed.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Advocate for patient needs and collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs/UAPs, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and comply with regulatory and facility standards.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
