Travel RN Behavioral Health (Detox/Substance Abuse) Penn Run, PA (13-Week Contract)

Rate: Travel: $1,804/36-hrs • Local: $1,735/36-hrs

Required credentials and qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Pennsylvania
• CPR/BLS required; ACLS preferred depending on facility
• Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, substance abuse, or detox settings preferred
• Strong assessment skills for withdrawal and mental health conditions
• Ability to manage high-acuity behavioral situations calmly and professionally

Core responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for detox and behavioral health patients
• Monitor and manage withdrawal symptoms (alcohol, opioids, other substances)
• Administer medications per orders, including MAT and PRNs
• Observe and respond to behavioral changes, mental status shifts, and clinical deterioration
• Implement and maintain patient safety measures (suicide risk, elopement precautions, etc.)
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, counselors, and the interdisciplinary team
• Support admission/intake screening and discharge planning
• Provide education on recovery, relapse prevention, and medication adherence
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
