Join us in McComb, MS for a 13-week contract assignment (start ASAP) with a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. This role offers competitive pay: Travel rate $2,244/35 hrs; Local rate $2,212/35 hrs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform thorough physical assessments and review medical histories to get a clear picture of each patient’s needs.
- Work with the rest of the healthcare team to develop individualized treatment plans and measurable rehab goals.
- Create and lead customized exercise programs that build strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
- Use hands-on techniques—joint mobilization, soft-tissue work, manual stretching—to improve mobility and reduce pain.
- Apply therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat and cold therapy to support healing and manage inflammation.
- Instruct patients in the safe use of assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to improve function and independence.
- Teach patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, injury prevention, body mechanics and ergonomics.
- Implement pain-management strategies using exercise, modalities and manual techniques.
- Help patients regain independence after surgery, injury or illness to improve their overall quality of life.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and provide tailored home exercise programs.
- Communicate clearly with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists and other team members to coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records—assessments, treatment notes, progress updates and any changes in condition.
- Uphold legal and ethical standards, protect patient confidentiality, and obtain informed consent.
- Provide culturally responsive care that respects each patient’s background and preferences.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required qualifications:
- Valid, active Physical Therapy state license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (AED included).
