What you'll need

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse license for the state.

  • Administering medications and treatments accurately and following established protocols.
  • Performing patient assessments (including physical exams, health histories, and medication reviews) and contributing to individualized care plans.

  • Collecting specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Supporting patient comfort and safety with positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
  • Responding quickly in emergencies and providing basic life support as needed.
  • Following strict infection control practices (hand hygiene, PPE) and safely handling, storing, and disposing of meds and supplies.
  • Collaborating with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Occasionally supervising CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel as needed.
  • Staying current with nursing best practices through ongoing education.
  • Performing other duties assigned by management.
