PACU RN (13-week Travel Contract) — Hilo, HI | Flexible Shifts, Critical-Care PACU role

Join a short-term contract opportunity in Hilo, HI caring for surgical patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. This 13-week assignment begins July 20, 2026. Two RN positions are available. Shifts are variable; hours and shift preferences are not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Active Hawaii RN license required by assignment start. Candidates without a Hawaii license must apply upon acceptance.
• Minimum 2 years’ recent clinical experience; critical care (ICU/ED) experience may substitute for PACU experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• PALS (AHA) recommended and may be required for some roles.
• Other specialty certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) preferred and may be required for specific positions.
• Proof of influenza vaccination or an approved medical/religious exemption is required prior to contract start; the flu vaccine may be administered during employee health clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients pre-op and in Phase I and Phase II recovery.
• Monitor and assess patients’ airway, breathing, circulation, incision sites, temperature, pain, and neurologic status following anesthesia.
• Recognize and intervene promptly for post-anesthesia complications and changes in patient stability.
• Utilize critical-care skills and sound clinical judgment to manage postoperative recovery and handoffs to the next level of care.
