Locums Family Medicine NP/PA — Outpatient Primary Care (Cheshire, CT)

A healthcare organization in Cheshire, CT is seeking a Locums Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide outpatient primary care coverage while a permanent provider is recruited. This role offers a stable weekday schedule in a collaborative outpatient clinic with no weekend work.

Compensation: $90 per hour

Role highlights

• Setting: Outpatient primary care clinic
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (lunch included)
• Patient volume: ~20 patients per day
• Procedures: None required
• Call: Shared rotation, approximately 1 in 8 weeks

Primary responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient primary care for patients across the lifespan
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Perform wellness exams and preventive screenings
• Manage follow-up care, medication refills, and chronic disease plans
• Document care accurately and promptly in the EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program; board certified
• Active Connecticut NP or PA license
• Preferred: Minimum 5 years’ experience in family medicine or primary care
• Strong outpatient clinical skills, clinical judgment, and ability to work independently in a busy practice
