Locum Tenens Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Tucson, AZ

Join a physician-led team in Tucson, AZ, providing locum coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. This role supports a well-resourced clinical infrastructure that allows surgeons to concentrate on delivering exceptional patient care alongside an experienced orthopedic trauma group.

Assignment highlights

• 24-hour shifts, approximately 183 shifts per year (flexible scheduling options available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day rotations and built-in recovery between assignments
• Combination of OR, inpatient, and follow-up clinic responsibilities
• Collaborative environment with an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon and dedicated acute care surgery coverage

Clinical responsibilities

• Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Trauma call coverage at a high-volume center, including coordination with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Management of complex fracture care, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Balance of surgical cases, inpatient management, and outpatient follow-up
• Timely, accurate documentation and interdisciplinary communication

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Proven experience in high-acuity trauma care; pelvic and acetabular fracture expertise strongly preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain one
