Locums Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician — High-Volume Richmond, VA (Level III Nursery)

We’re looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Richmond, Virginia. You’ll be joining a busy, well-established MFM practice and caring for high-risk pregnancies across both outpatient and inpatient settings.

• High-risk pregnancy volume: ~95%
• Nursery level: III
• EMR: Epic and Viewpoint

What you’ll do

• Manage high-risk obstetric patients in clinic and on the hospital service
• Perform consultations, diagnostic evaluations, and ongoing care for complex maternal and fetal conditions
• Work closely with OB/GYN colleagues, neonatology, nursing, and ancillary teams to coordinate care
• Contribute to care planning for patients with significant maternal or fetal comorbidities
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR

Procedures and clinical experience we expect

• Amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS)
• Cerclage preferred
• Comfortable managing conditions such as pre-eclampsia and hypertension, multiple gestations, fetal growth restriction, chromosomal/genetic abnormalities, preterm labor, thrombophilia, and other complex maternal/fetal issues
• Experience with vaginal and cesarean deliveries in high-risk settings

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited MFM fellowship
• Active Virginia medical license
• BLS certification
• AIUM certification
