Requirements & Qualifications
- Board: BC preferred; BE accepted
- Licensure: Michigan NP license required
- Certifications: PALS, NRP
- Experience: Prefer Level III NICU experience
- Procedural skills required: Endotracheal intubation, chest tube placement, central line placement, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, exchange transfusion, therapeutic hypothermia, ventilator management including oscillators and iNO
Core Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour in-house and on-call clinical coverage for the Level III NICU
- Manage complex neonates including respiratory, cardiovascular, infectious, neurologic, and metabolic conditions
- Perform indicated procedures (intubation, central/arterial lines, chest tubes, LPs, exchange transfusion)
- Stabilize and coordinate transport for surgical and tertiary care transfers
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team (RNs, RTs, consulting specialists) to deliver care and facilitate consults and transfers
