Oncology RN (Travel, 13-Week Contract) — Hilo HI Epic Proficiency, Chemo/Port Experience

Come join a caring team in Hilo, HI for a 13-week contract starting August 3, 2026. You’ll work days providing oncology nursing care in a fast-paced clinical setting, using your experience to support patients through chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and other oncologic treatments.

What you’ll bring

• Current RN license and at least 3 years of clinical nursing experience, ideally in oncology.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous drugs and correct use of PPE.

What you’ll do

• Independently prepare and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted agents, and injections (including chemo, hormonal, and non-chemo/hormonal) according to provider orders.
• Access and care for central lines: port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters; perform venipuncture and dressing changes; draw labs via ports and central lines.
• Monitor IV therapies closely and maintain accurate records of treatments and patient responses.
• Assess patients, document conditions, treatments, medications, and reactions clearly and concisely.
• Verify informed consent before administering chemotherapy.
• Notify the Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner of unusual findings and initiate emergency actions when necessary.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about treatments, expected responses and side effects, disease process, nutrition, activity, and any physical adjustments related to disease or treatment.
• Maintain a safe clinical environment and comply with facility policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
