Temporary LPN — Inpatient Behavioral Health (Tuscaloosa, AL)

Adelphi is looking for Licensed Practical Nurses to provide temporary, on-site nursing support at an inpatient behavioral health facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This is a contract position to help deliver hands-on patient care, medication administration, documentation, treatment support, and emergency response in a behavioral health setting.

What you’ll do

• Provide direct nursing care to inpatient behavioral health clients and assist in monitoring their overall condition.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic prescriptions as assigned.
• Follow oral and written orders precisely and complete accurate, timely charting and patient records.
• Support treatment implementation, assist with patient care activities, and work in designated observation and treatment areas.
• Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies per facility guidelines.
• Adhere to nursing standards of care and regulatory expectations (Joint Commission, Medicare, Medicaid).
• Participate in facility orientation, ongoing training, performance reviews, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain confidentiality, wear required uniform and ID, and comply with all facility policies.

Shift details and rate

• Anticipated start date: October 1 (pending award and assignment confirmation).
• Schedule: 32–40 hours per week (minimum).
• Weekend: At least one scheduled weekend per month.
• Holidays: One major holiday between Jan–Jun and one between Jul–Dec.
• Rate: $25–$30/hour.

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Alabama.
• At least one year of verifiable LPN experience.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification from a certified instructor (written proof required).
• Solid knowledge of practical nursing principles and techniques.
• Strong communication skills and ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and administer prescribed treatments.
• Available to report for assignment within 48 hours when needed.
• Able to complete facility-specific orientation, ongoing training, license verification, background check, and drug screen.
• Must complete TB screening and provide flu vaccine verification or declination, and meet confidentiality requirements.
