Locum Family Medicine Physician Assistant — Outpatient Primary Care, St. Ignace MI

We are seeking an experienced Family Medicine Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage in St. Ignace, Michigan. This outpatient primary care role offers a predictable four-day workweek with no call or weekend responsibilities—ideal for clinicians prioritizing work-life balance.

Assignment details

• Start: Tentative – August 3, 2026
• Length: Minimum 12 weeks
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, four 10-hour shifts
• Call/Weekends: None
• Setting: Outpatient primary care
• Patient population: Adult and geriatric
• Volume: Approximately 18–22 patients per day
• EMR: Epic

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient primary care for adult and geriatric patients
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Provide preventive care, wellness visits, and chronic disease management
• Assess and treat acute complaints and blood pressure issues
• Perform pelvic exams and Pap smears as indicated
• Complete disability examinations when required
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure patient-centered, high-quality care

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• NCCPA Board Certified
• Active Michigan PA license and DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of one year of primary care or family medicine experience
