Join a blended Med/Surg unit in Murphysboro, IL on a 13-week contract/travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026. This night-shift role (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) offers a rate of $1,497/36 hours and includes every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday coverage; there is no on-call requirement.

Requirements

• Active RN license and a minimum of 2 years clinical experience.

Unit overview and responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a blended Med/Surg unit that includes a thriving Swing Bed program and occasional Progressive Care (PCU)-level patients.
• Assignments are balanced according to patient acuity and nursing workload. Typical patient ratios: Med/Surg 1:5; Swing Bed 1:5–6; PCU 1:3–4 (ratios may vary if patients are on drips).
• Supervisors support assignment decisions, and nurses with primarily Med/Surg experience are welcome.
• Collaborate with an engaged team that leads multiple unit committees and contributes to a culture of safety, quality care, and shared decision-making. St. Joseph Memorial Hospital is ANCC Pathway to Excellence–designated.
