Position type: Contract (duration based on assignment)
Schedule: As assigned during school operating hours; on-site
Compensation: $55 per hour
Overview
Provide speech-language assessment and therapy to K–12 students. Develop and implement IEP-based services, monitor progress, prepare diagnostic documentation, and collaborate with families, educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Colorado Special Services Provider license with Speech Language Specialist endorsement
- Preferred: experience in public school settings working with children
- Knowledge of assessment, eligibility determination, IEP development, treatment planning, intervention, and progress monitoring
- Familiarity with articulation, phonology, receptive/expressive language, fluency, voice, oral-motor, social communication, auditory processing, and augmentative communication
- Knowledge of special education regulations and Colorado procedural timelines
- Strong oral and written communication and professional documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work with diverse populations
- Bilingual skills preferred
- CPR and First Aid encouraged
- Must pass district-required fingerprinting and criminal background screening
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations: screenings, observations, interviews, record reviews, standardized and criterion-referenced assessments
- Interpret results and prepare clear, timely diagnostic reports
- Develop measurable long- and short-term goals aligned with student needs and IEPs
- Create and maintain an effective service schedule; provide individual and small-group therapy on-site
- Use evidence-based intervention strategies and adapt materials and approaches as needed
- Monitor and document student progress, maintain service logs, Medicaid documentation, and compliance records
- Participate in multidisciplinary eligibility, placement, and IEP meetings; attend required conferences and professional development
- Communicate student progress, needs, and recommendations to parents/guardians and school staff
- Recommend classroom accommodations, communication supports, assistive technology, and AAC as appropriate
- Supervise SLPAs when assigned, following Colorado regulations and professional standards
- Maintain professional boundaries; comply with laws, ethics, district policies, confidentiality, and safety procedures
- Perform additional duties consistent with the speech-language pathology assignment
