Locums Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — High-Acuity Mesa Trauma Center, Above-Market Pay

Physician-led hospital system in Mesa, AZ seeks a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon for locum coverage at a high-acuity trauma center. The position supports an experienced orthopedic trauma team and a robust clinical infrastructure.

Schedule and Assignment

• 24-hour shifts; approximately 183 shifts annually (flexible scheduling options)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches
• Built-in recovery time between rotations
• Clinical mix: operating room, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic
• Work alongside an additional Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
• Dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical Responsibilities

• Operative and non-operative management of orthopedic trauma patients
• Trauma call coverage at a high-volume center
• Management of complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaboration with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance of surgical cases, inpatient care, and outpatient follow-up
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain
