Locum Tenens Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Mesa, AZ

Join a physician-led team in Mesa, AZ to provide locum tenens coverage at a high-acuity, hospital-based trauma center. This role supports an established orthopedic trauma program with robust clinical infrastructure, enabling surgeons to concentrate on delivering exceptional patient care within a collaborative and well-supported environment.

Assignment highlights

• 24-hour shifts, approximately 183 shifts per year (flexible scheduling available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery between rotations
• Combination of OR time, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic responsibilities
• Work alongside an additional fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon
• Dedicated orthopedic trauma and acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide operative and non-operative care for orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call coverage at a high-volume center
• Manage complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Coordinate care with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgical caseload with inpatient management and outpatient follow-up
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Demonstrated experience in high-acuity trauma care
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain one
