Locum Tenens Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon — Phoenix, AZ

Join a physician-led team in Phoenix, AZ, providing fellowship-level orthopedic trauma coverage at a high-acuity trauma center. This organization builds strong clinical infrastructure so surgeons can focus on excellent patient care in a hospital-based setting. You’ll work alongside experienced orthopedic trauma colleagues in a collaborative, well-supported environment.

Schedule and assignment highlights

• 24-hour shift model, roughly 183 shifts per year (flexible scheduling options available)
• Blocked scheduling with 7-day stretches and built-in recovery between rotations
• Mixed clinical duties: OR cases, inpatient management, and follow-up clinic
• Shared coverage with an additional orthopedic trauma surgeon
• Dedicated orthopedic trauma + acute care surgery coverage model

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide operative and non-operative management for orthopedic trauma patients
• Participate in trauma call at a high-volume center
• Manage complex fractures, including pelvic and acetabular injuries
• Collaborate closely with trauma surgery, ICU, and emergency medicine teams
• Balance surgery, inpatient care, and outpatient follow-up while maintaining accurate, timely documentation

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Completion of an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship
• Experience in high-acuity trauma care required
• Strong expertise in pelvic and acetabular fracture management preferred
• Active Arizona medical license or willingness to obtain one
