Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — PM Shifts (Loxahatchee, FL)

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Loxahatchee, Florida. The emergency department is experiencing higher-than-expected patient volumes and needs additional coverage for ongoing evening (PM) shifts. This is a collaborative, well-supported clinical environment with experienced colleagues and full ancillary services.

Position details:

• Shift length: primarily 10-hour PM shifts
• Patient population: adults only (pediatrics seen in a separate pediatric ED)
• ED capacity: 33 bays
• Volume: ~1.8–2.0 patients per hour
• Admission rate: 26–30%
• Trauma designation: non‑trauma center

Clinical responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of emergent and urgent adult conditions
• Perform indicated emergency procedures and stabilize patients for admission or transfer
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality care
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Adhere to departmental protocols and quality standards

Staffing model:

• 3–4 emergency physicians per shift
• 3 advanced practice providers
• Full ED nursing and ancillary support

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
• Minimum 6 months of emergency medicine experience
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain licensure
• Current DEA registration
• Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills
