Locums Hospital Medicine Physician (Family Practice) — Derry, NH

We are seeking a locum Family Medicine physician to provide hospital-based inpatient coverage in Derry, New Hampshire. This ongoing opportunity offers a flexible, service-based schedule with additional support during high-volume periods.

Position highlights

• Ongoing engagement with flexible scheduling.
• Three service options:
  • Service A: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
  • Service B: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Service C: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
• During high patient volumes, all services convert to 12-hour shifts.
• Weekend coverage: two 12-hour services with surge coverage as needed.
• No fixed call rotation.

Call structure

• Service C: on call 7:00 AM–11:00 AM
• Service B: on call 11:00 AM–3:00 PM
• Service A: on call 3:00 PM–7:00 PM
• Physicians are not expected to be called back or return after their assigned shift ends.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for hospitalized patients.
• Perform evaluations, clinical rounds, and develop management plans.
• Admit, discharge, and cross-cover patients as assigned.
• Coordinate care with consultants, nursing, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Respond to urgent patient needs during assigned coverage.
• Maintain timely, accurate medical documentation.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (Internal Medicine acceptable if applicable).
• Active New Hampshire medical license.
• Prior hospital medicine experience preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and participate in service-based coverage.
