Locum Tenens Neurosurgeon — Inpatient & Emergency Coverage (Grand Forks, ND)

We’re looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Neurosurgeon to join a regional neurosurgical program in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on a locums basis. This role focuses on inpatient and emergency coverage, supporting trauma and ED teams and working closely with hospital leadership and multidisciplinary specialists to deliver high-quality, timely care.

What the role involves

• Provide comprehensive neurosurgical care for emergent and inpatient cases, including evaluation, management, and ongoing treatment of hospitalized patients.
• Cover emergency and trauma-related neurosurgical needs with prompt consultation and surgical recommendations for urgent cases.
• Collaborate daily with Emergency Medicine, Trauma Services, and other multidisciplinary teams to develop and coordinate treatment plans.
• No administrative duties—clinical focus only.

Schedule and scope

• Locums coverage: 183 twenty-four-hour shifts per year, with flexible block scheduling available.
• Continuous 24-hour call coverage.
• Shift requirements may be prorated for partial calendar years.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Neurosurgery.
• Must have, or be eligible for, North Dakota medical licensure.
• Ability to obtain and maintain hospital privileges.
