Join a surgical team in Paducah, Kentucky, to develop and expand a Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (ACS) program. This full-time position offers a unique 26-weeks-per-year clinical schedule that enables an excellent work–life balance while delivering comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical services.

• Compensation: $435,000 annually
• Schedule: 26 weeks per year; preferred block schedule 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (longer or shorter blocks negotiable)
• Clinical volume: ED ~39,680 visits/year; projected consults ~492/year (expected to grow); projected operations ~359/year (expected to grow)
• Typical daily workload: ~1–2 consults and ~1 operation per day on average
• APP support: None initially

Practice opportunity
Help build and grow a developing Trauma/ACS program alongside an initial team of two surgeons. You will provide independent surgical consultation and operative management for trauma and acute care patients, with opportunity to shape program structure, workflows, and future team expansion. The 26-week clinical model preserves full-time compensation while allowing extended non-clinical time for rest, professional development, or secondary pursuits.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or a related surgical specialty
• Experience managing acute care and trauma surgical patients
• Comfortable providing independent consultative and operative care
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a developing program
• Willingness to participate in a flexible block schedule
