Locum Trauma/ACS Surgeon — 26-Week Schedule, Above-Market Pay, Paducah KY

We’re looking for a Trauma/Acute Care Surgery (ACS) physician to join a growing surgical program in Paducah, Kentucky. This full-time locum position follows a unique 26-weeks-per-year model that supports a strong work–life balance while delivering comprehensive trauma and acute care surgical coverage.

Highlights

• Schedule: 26 weeks per year
• Preferred block schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off (flexible; longer or shorter blocks can be considered)
• Typical consult volume: ~1–2 per day
• Average operative volume: ~1 operation per day (~359 projected annual operations; expected to grow)
• Annual ED volume: ~39,680 visits
• Projected annual consults: ~492 (with anticipated growth)
• APP support: None initially

What you’ll do
You’ll provide independent surgical consultation and operative care for trauma and acute care patients, helping to establish and expand a developing Trauma/ACS service. You’ll work closely with an initial team of two surgeons and have the autonomy to shape workflows and clinical processes as the program grows.

Who we’re looking for

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or a related surgical specialty
• Experience managing acute care and trauma surgical patients
• Comfortable providing independent consults and operative care
• Able to thrive in a developing program and contribute to its growth
• Strong clinical judgment and clear communication skills
• Willing to work a flexible block schedule
