Locums Emergency Medicine Physician - Flexible PRN Shifts, No Call, High ED Volume in Benton MO

Locum Emergency Medicine physician needed in Benton, Missouri for flexible PRN coverage. Candidates: Emergency Medicine physicians (BC/BE) or Board-Certified Family Medicine/Internal Medicine physicians with ≥3 years Emergency Medicine experience. Must be willing to work days, nights, and weekends.

Schedule

• PRN/flexible scheduling
• Scattered 10- and 12-hour shifts
• No in-house call

Clinical volume and environment

• Average ED census: ~81 patients per day
• Annual ED admission rate: ~12%
• Higher proportion of lower-acuity (Level 4-5) patients, with periodic critically ill cases
• ICU available for higher-acuity admissions

Clinical responsibilities and procedures

• Evaluate and manage wide range of emergency presentations
• Perform standard ED procedures, including:
  • Endotracheal intubation
  • Central line placement
  • Critical care stabilization and management
  • Other routine emergency procedures
• Provide ICU-level care as needed prior to transfer/admission

Support services and limitations

• On-site ICU
• Neurology and psychiatric consult services available
• No dedicated on-site services for pediatrics, plastics, neuro-interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization lab, or obstetrics

Credentialing and certifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, OR Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with ≥3 years Emergency Medicine experience
• Active Missouri medical license required
• Current ATLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
