Part-Time Medical Director / Attending Physician - Hospitalist (Skilled Nursing Facilities)

Join a collaborative team delivering high-quality care to post-acute and long-term care patients across skilled nursing facilities in Springfield, IL. This part-time Medical Director/Attending Physician role offers flexible scheduling, meaningful clinical leadership, and partnership with experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide patient-centered care and oversight at assigned facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive on-site medical care and clinical oversight at local skilled nursing facilities.
• Collaborate with APRNs and PAs on treatment plans, transitions of care, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as clinical resource for facility staff and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation using company-provided iPad with LTE.

Schedule and practice model

• Part-time commitment; physicians typically cover each facility 1-2 days per week.
• No fixed start/end times, no overnight shifts, and no on-call responsibilities.
• Expect approximately 18-25 visits per day.
• Flexible schedule supports strong work-life balance; new graduates who are board-eligible and pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with unrestricted U.S. medical license or eligibility for licensure.
