Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician - Apopka, FL

Location: Apopka, Florida - Locum tenens opportunity in a modern freestanding emergency facility affiliated with a Level II Trauma Center.

Facility overview

• Projected annual ED volume: ~12,385 visits
• 11 private patient-care beds
• Dedicated trauma room
• Ambulance bay with direct EMS access
• EMR: MEDITECH
• Fully integrated with nearby Level II Trauma Center for specialty and inpatient support
• On-site diagnostic imaging (CT, ultrasound, X-ray)

Clinical scope

• Provide 24/7 emergency care, initial stabilization, and management of undifferentiated patients
• Use facility diagnostic imaging and EMS resources for rapid evaluation
• Stabilize and arrange transfer or admission for patients requiring higher-acuity care
• Coordinate seamless handoffs to hospital-based intensivists, hospitalists, and specialty services when needed

Credentials and certifications

• ABEM or AOBEM board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine
  OR Board certified in Family Medicine with extensive ED experience
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• ATLS preferred

Operational notes

• Practice in a freestanding ED with ready access to hospital resources via the affiliated Level II Trauma Center
• MEDITECH EMR in use
