Locum tenens Emergency Medicine Physician position in Sanford, FL.

Overview:
Provide high-quality emergency care on a locum tenens basis across emergency department settings. Manage a broad spectrum of acute conditions, stabilize patients, and coordinate disposition and follow-up.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform focused history and physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and procedural interventions (e.g., minor laceration repair, incision and drainage, joint reductions).
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and arrange appropriate transfer when needed.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, consultants, and patients/families.
• Adhere to departmental policies, quality and safety protocols, and local regulations.

Minimum qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
• Active Florida medical license.
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Valid DEA registration (preferred or obtain prior to start, depending on assignment).
• Recent ED clinical experience and strong procedural skills.
