Locums Elective Orthopedic Surgeon - Build Total Joints Practice, Dedicated OR/APP Support

Join a growing program in Marion, Illinois to establish and expand an elective orthopedic and total joints practice. This locums opportunity offers the chance to build a high-volume adult reconstruction service supported by a well-resourced health system, a collaborative orthopedic team, and dedicated APP assistance.

• Dedicated OR block time, Monday-Friday

• Hospitalist team manages most inpatient admissions
• Strong administrative and clinical infrastructure to support practice growth
• Limited acute orthopedic and fracture coverage; complex trauma referred to in-system orthopedic traumatologists

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Eligible for Illinois medical licensure and hospital privileges
• Interest in building and growing an elective orthopedic surgery practice
• Comfortable managing a limited amount of acute orthopedic and fracture care

Preferred

• Fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction / Total Joint Replacement
• Proven experience developing referral networks and increasing elective surgical volume
• Commitment to patient-centered, high-quality orthopedic care

Compensation & logistics

• Generous above-market hourly rate per 24-hour shift
