Locum Emergency Medicine Physician - PM Shifts, Loxahatchee FL (10-hr)

We are hiring a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physician for locum tenens coverage in Loxahatchee, Florida to support increased patient volumes. This is primarily PM coverage in a collaborative, well-supported ED.

Position highlights

• Shift length: primarily 10 hours (PM shifts)
• Patient population: adults only (pediatric patients seen in a separate pediatric ED)
• ED capacity: 33 bays
• Volume: ~1.8-2.0 patients/hour
• Admission rate: 26-30%
• Trauma designation: non-trauma center

Clinical responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad range of emergent and urgent adult conditions
• Perform indicated emergency procedures and initial stabilization
• Arrange admissions or transfers to higher levels of care as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality care
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
• Adhere to departmental protocols and quality standards

Staffing model

• 3-4 emergency physicians per shift
• 3 advanced practice providers
• Full nursing and ancillary support

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
• Minimum 6 months of emergency medicine experience
• Active Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Current DEA registration
• Strong clinical judgment and procedural skills
