Locum Tenens Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon (Level II) - Rapid City, SD (Locums, $4.5k-$5k/day)

Position type: Full-time locum tenens - Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon

Overview:
Provide specialized surgical care for traumatic musculoskeletal injuries as a core member of the orthopedic trauma team at a regional medical center in Rapid City, SD.

Compensation:

• $4,500-$5,000 per day (per 24-hour shift)

Primary responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage acute orthopedic trauma patients in the emergency department, inpatient units, and operating room
• Perform trauma-related operative procedures and post-operative care
• Triage, admit, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
• Provide coverage for weekends, nights, and scheduled locum shifts as assigned
• Document care accurately and complete required administrative tasks for credentialing and billing

Required qualifications:

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma or equivalent significant experience in trauma surgery
• Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery
• Eligible for or holding a South Dakota medical license
