Locum Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner needed in WI

Locum Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner needed for locum coverage in Wisconsin. This role supports the cardiovascular surgery team in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing perioperative care, surgical assistance, and ongoing patient management. Epic EMR experience required. Start date: October 28, 2026.

Schedule and Coverage

• Coverage approximately 1-2 days per week; schedule adjusted to team needs
• Call responsibilities may include weeknight, night, or 24-hour coverage

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assist cardiovascular surgeons in the operating room
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (required)
• Manage inpatient cardiovascular surgery patients, including pre- and post-operative care
• Conduct evaluations, follow-ups, rounding, and consults
• Collaborate with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
• Complete timely documentation in Epic

Typical Patient Volume

• Inpatient census: ~2-8 patients per day
• Clinic volume: ~2-8 patients when assigned

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin license required (facility cannot wait for state licensing)
• National certification and current PA or NP board certification
• Demonstrated cardiovascular surgery experience, with proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting
• BLS certification required
• Eligible for hospital privileges and credentialing
• Proficient with Epic EMR
