Locum Gastroenterologist - Hospital-Based Endoscopy & Weekend 24-hr Call in Petoskey, MI

Join a collaborative, hospital-based gastroenterology team in Petoskey, MI, providing weekday endoscopy and consultation coverage with 24-hour weekend call on Saturdays and Sundays. You will work alongside two gastroenterologists and two advanced practice providers in a well-supported clinical environment with onsite lab and X-ray services and Cerner electronic medical records.

Schedule & details

• Weekday hours: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Weekend call: 24-hour coverage on Saturdays and Sundays
• No weeknight call
• Patient volume: ~18 outpatient visits and ~20 inpatient scopes per day
• Practice setting: Hospital-based; EMR: Cerner
• Support: 2 physicians, 2 APPs; onsite lab and radiology

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient endoscopy services and perform indicated procedures
• Manage gastroenterology consultations during scheduled coverage
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of GI conditions and develop treatment plans
• Provide 24-hour weekend call coverage on Saturdays and Sundays
• Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner

Requirements

• Board-certified in Gastroenterology
• Active Michigan medical license
• Current ACLS certification
