Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician - Hospital-Based Labor & Delivery Coverage (Lansing, MI)

We are seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN for locum tenens hospital coverage in Lansing, Michigan. This opportunity requires 24/7 on-call coverage every fifth week from September 2026 through January 2, 2027 (specific dates to be determined) and includes required weekend shifts. Coverage includes two hours of gratis patient care.

Schedule and Setting

• Shift: 24-hour call, coverage frequency: every fifth week
• Coverage period: September 2026-January 2, 2027; specific dates TBD
• Setting: Hospital-based (Labor & Delivery, Emergency Department, Surgical Services, emergent clinic consultations)
• EHR: Cerner
• Average volume: ~4 deliveries per day
• Support: collaboration with two Nurse Practitioners and multidisciplinary care team

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide labor and delivery coverage for low-risk pregnancies and vaginal deliveries
• Perform Cesarean sections and manage urgent obstetric surgical needs
• Manage obstetric and gynecologic emergencies in the ED
• Repair third- and fourth-degree perineal lacerations
• Manage VBAC attempts
• Perform obstetric ultrasounds and amniocentesis
• Evaluate emergent clinic consultations and determine need for admission
• Work collaboratively with nurse practitioners and other clinical staff

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Active Michigan medical license
• Minimum 2 years’ OB/GYN clinical experience
• Proficiency in vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, VBAC management, and obstetric emergencies
• Skilled in repairing third- and fourth-degree lacerations
• Experience with obstetric ultrasound and amniocentesis
